Introduction
CyberPower, an electronic equipment manufacturer and distributor, faced ongoing challenges due to outdated and disconnected software systems. These critical issues were compounded by governmental and supply chain shifts. The company needed to modernize and unify for a streamlined solution and connected insights. To do it right, they needed a dedicated implementation partner with manufacturing and distribution expertise to assist.

The Business Challenge
Like many manufacturers, CyberPower had patched together multiple legacy systems over the years. Platforms were outdated, scattered, and ultimately incompatible. Tracking real costs, particularly in light of tariffs and supply chain variabilities, was entirely impossible.
The company knew it needed a modern, unified Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution that included a WMS (Warehouse Management System) and a CRM to help solve inefficient and error-prone warehouse operations. Microsoft Dynamics 365 was quickly selected due to its cutting-edge tech and broad business applications.
The company hired a partner to oversee the implementation, but the initiative quickly veered off track.
The partner’s communication was subpar, so action items went uncompleted, and milestones were missed. The point people also lacked extensive industry experience, so despite the manufacturer’s relatively straightforward business, misunderstandings were common. To further complicate the efforts, the hired implementation team was small and siloed, which meant any given team member’s absence caused a complete project stall.
The initial goal was an all-in-one go-live, but rollouts were eventually segmented to ideally get anything up and running. These micro-deadlines still went unmet.
Ultimately, the initiative never made it past testing.
CyberPower was left feeling frustrated — and concerned that all the time and money they’d already invested would go to waste.

The Integrated Solution
CyberPower’s situation was a clear case for an ERP rescue. MCA Connect’s targeted approach allowed for recovery and realignment of the implementation, delivering the original value (and more) that CyberPower had originally set out to achieve without sacrificing the foundation they had already built.
The first step was consulting, which allowed MCA Connect’s team of strategy experts to evaluate their existing state and map a road to recovery.
It also allowed the company to get to know MCA Connect.
CyberPower quickly noted greater flexibility, as MCA Connect could seamlessly manage as much or as little as needed.
MCA Connect’s team was also larger, composed of industry experts able to pinpoint and diagnose diverse issues, with every team member able and willing to assist.
Communication was clear and frequent, and milestones were now being met — or exceeded.
Both teams quickly agreed on an optimal path forward, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Experience (CE), Power Platform, and Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain including WMS at the forefront.
Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform would unify front-end functions like sales, service, and customer engagement (replacing Salesforce, which would not integrate for seamless usage and end-to-end insights). CE and Power Platform’s flexible, low-code landscape was a perfect fit for the fast-tracked timeline.
Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management would then overhaul back-end business operations. With its accounting, inventory, supply chain, warehouse management, and procurement capabilities, CyberPower could calculate true costs — including variable tariffs — automatically, run warehouse operations more efficiently, and make better, faster decisions at every level. This approach would also preserve the company’s D365 foundation.
MCA Connect completed the D365 CE and Power Platform implementation in just four months. Only three months later, Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management was fully implemented as well. Both go-lives were seamless, with no disruptions to operations. And true costs, including tariffs, were automatically calculated starting on day one.
In the months following, MCA Connect’s Managed Services team provided ongoing support and optimization through weekly touch bases. Notably, MCA Connect coached the CyberPower team on tackling smaller issues while maintaining focus on larger ones, growing internal staff members’ skills while staying conscious of the budget.
